Our explanatory text is written for ElectoralVote.com. We use facts from public records and public-domain government materials, but do not copy the expressive wording, photography, illustrations, or page design of other publications. External material is linked or attributed when useful.

Election laws, court decisions, procedures, and deadlines can change. We avoid presenting changing requirements as permanent facts. State pages use durable explanations and send readers to the current official source before they act.
